قامت صفحة من صفحات رواد مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي على موقف تبادل الصور والفيديوهات الشهير (إنستجرام) بتداول صورة للفنانة الشابة مي عمر وهي جالسة على أحد الشواطئ في الصيف , ولاقت الصورة اعجابات كثيرة جدا بالنجمة الشابة , وكان تعليق الصفحة عليها (ارق من أنجبت السينما المصرية ) .

مي عمر من مواليد السابع من فبراير عام 1988 تخرجت من الجامعة الامريكية قسم صحافة واعلام , وكانت بدايتها الفنية عام 2013 في مسلسل حكاية حياة للنجمة غادة عبد الرازق , ثم قامت بمشاركة هيفاء وهبي في مسلسل كلام على ورق , ثم مسلسل الأسطورة عام 2016 مع محمد رمضان , ثم في عام 2019 قامت بمشاركة بطولة ولد الغلابة مع النجم أحمد السقا , وجميعهم من إخراج زوجها المخرج محمد سامي .
ابتعدت عن زوجها في اعمال , حالة عشق 2015 , الطبال 2016 , ريح المدام وعفاريت عدلي علام 2017 , واخيرا مسلسل الفتوة مع النجم ياسر جلال في موسم رمضاني 2020 , أما عن افلامها فلا يوجد لها سوى فيلمين فقط هما فيلم اخر ديك في مصر لمحمد رمضان وفيلم تصبح على خير لتامر حسني .
تزوجت من المخرج محمد سامي عام 2010 , واثارت اعمالها معه بعض المشاكل لها وله هو ايضا حيث اتهمته الفنانات ياسمين صبري ونسرين أمين انه اعطي مساحة الدور الأكبر لها في مسلسل الاسطورة وقام بمسح مشاهد اكثر لباقي الفنانات .
قدمت دور مسرحي واحد في مسرحية بابا جاب موز مع الفنان والمخرج أشرف زكي الذي قام بترشيحها للدور , ووقف بجانبها كثيرا حتى جعلها تستعد جيدا للدور .

Mai Omar was born on February 7, 1988. She graduated from the American University of Journalism and Media, and her artistic start was in 2013 in the series “A Life's Story” by Ghada Abdel Razek, then she participated with Haifa Wehbe in the series Kalam on Paper, then the Legend of 2016 with Muhammad Ramadan. Then, in 2019, she shared the championship of Ould El Ghalba with the star Ahmed El Sakka, all directed by her husband, director Mohamed Sami.
She moved away from her husband in Aamal, Love Case 2015, Drummer 2016, Wind of Madame and Afarat Adly Allam 2017, and finally, the series of Fatwa with the star Yasser Jalal in the Ramadan season 2020, as for her films, there are only two films that are the last movie you have in Egypt for Mohamed Ramadan and a movie Good night, Tamer Hosni.
She married director Mohamed Sami in 2010, and her work with him raised some problems for her and for him, too, where artists Yasmine Sabry and Nisreen Amin accused him of giving space to her biggest role in the Legend series and surveyed more scenes for the rest of the artists.
She performed one theatrical role in the play Baba Gap Banana with the artist and director Ashraf Zaki who nominated her for the role, and he stood beside her a lot until he made her prepare well for the role.
